Hi,
There maybe no security issues with the DSpace application but you need to
be aware of issues with those services that DSpace depends upon, e.g. your
web server, servlet container, version of JDK, database server etc. For
example, there is a known security vulnerability with your Tomcat
Hi,
Our instance of dspace is resolving handles to port 8080 - which is not
visible to users outside of our network. Does anyone know how I can change
the handle config to ensure handles resolve to port 80?
Example: http://hdl.handle.net/1983/103

Hi,
Yes, this is the easiest way if you disregard preservation. Otherwise, you
would need two copies of the file - one managed by dspace and the other
delivered via the streaming server.

Hi,
We've had a request to make an item in our DSpace instance inaccessible to
web search engines as required by a publisher. Is there any way to prevent
search engines such as Google from accessing/indexing a particular item

Hi,
I'd like to upgrade to dspace 1.4.2 from 1.4.1 - however, I can't find the
source in CVS when importing via Eclipse. Also, the CVS is showing 1.5
alpha 1 as the latest version - however, there is no mention of 1.4.2 in
the CHANGES document, why is this?
Thanks,
Naveed

You can download 1.4.2 via SVN from
https://dspace.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/dspace
use
tags/dspace-1_4_2
or via SF download at

hope that helps

Hi Mark,
I sent the message below not long ago, which is related to your concern
about keeping spiders out of the statistics.
The Dspace Stats package analyses the dspace log's which do not record info
about spiders. Info from spiders/web crawlers can only be viewed in apache
logs? Thus, if
