Hi all!

Iam new to dspace, just would like to know , is it possible to have
different input-forms based on collections in the xmlui.

Hello,

yes this is posssible. You can define several input forms in the 
input-forms.xml and map these to different collections, see section 
Custom Metadata-entry Pages for Submission of the DSpace documentation
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC/Submission+User+Interface
for a detailed explanation.
