Hello all:
I'm new to the ID-1 and am setting up a mobile antenna for field day type
activities. My antenna is a Comet GP-95 and I want to to use LMR-400 coax.
What is the correct Amphenol connector? I usually use Mouser...
Thanks,

Hello All:
I've heard it said that with the Mirage BD-35 D-Star will outrange plain old
FM. If that is so I'll look into getting one. But before spending my moldy
money, I would like some first hand reports from Mirage users:

Tactical Call Sign SOP:
A tactical call sign is entered in the 4 digit comment field after a station's

Thanks for the comments, Nate.
I'm just stirring the pot here for fun.
I see 1.2DV as nothing new, as I have many radios that reach repeaters
now...
I see 1.2DD as the real performance upgrade: My laptop goes plug and
play into my ham radio (ID-1), and now my laptop can reach a repeater,

I'm curious about this because, IMHO, 1.2 DV has very little to offer.
1.2 is strictly line of sight, and one really needs a high gain
antenna and expensive feedline for reliable work. Why
That darn connector! Thanks a ton Barry for replying off list to help
with my confusion. I still have some minor questions for the group:
Pin 3: Clone CPU and
Pin 9: OPTV CPU
What are they for in plain English?
Also (and yeah, I'm missing something very basic here):
Is pin 2 the PTT?
Gentlemen:
My D-Star work has been limited to simplex as I am currently outside a
repeater coverage area. I do not have the RS-92 software.
When programming Band B D-Star channels, I am able to store the freq,
duplex, offset, MNAME, and whatnot in the usual manner: Press MR for 1
sec to enter
Hello all:
How does the Low Speed Data portion of the RS-92 software compare to
D- Rats? I ask because I've found nothing on the internet or at Icom
that explains what their software consists of...but maybe I haven't
looked hard enough. Perhaps someone could send me the RS-92 help file?
