I think of more importance to those of us on my side of the pond is the
preponderance of operators from Europe who may have a different focus than east

But, they also added to the 'on-the-air' problems by wasting

You hear a lot of interesting things on 30. There is often a RTTY station
on 10101.0 that sends long transmissions. I don't believe it's an amateur
station.
That is a German Met-station sending WX-reports.

I heard USB the other night around 10.110, and some Swede replied that SSB
is legal on 30m there. However, the QSO sounded much more Spanish than
Swedish!

Happy new year, Charles.
You are above average on sensitivity to other people's situation. It
probably comes from your experience from foreign lands.
Unfortunately the great majority of DX-ers has not travelled and learned as
much as you have. Therefore I believe it to be wishful thinking
that
That is not a fair assessment INMHO.
I believe it is a question of experience, circumstances and probably a lot
of other things.
These chaps live in an overheated tent under what we may call primitive
circumstances and it is probably not so easy to think clearly, except for
getting on the air

Bravo! This is in the finest ham spirit. On the last day of Kure K7C, we

One of my pet peeves is DX operations that don't observe propagation. I
called K7C a bit this morning on 40 CW at 1300Z
I noticed this with KH9/W0CN yesterday too. I caught him on SSB yesterday

our SR but was working JAs at that time. I asked if he would listen for
us, but was kind of disappointed in his answer.

Stig 9N7JO is not copying everybody calling him due to a very high noise
level.
I wonder if somebody knows about a SEM noise cancelling unit available ?
