Gerald, I am in NC and according to W6EL Prop my MUF to TX0C is
13.5 MHz. Solar Flux is 188 and K=2. Does not make sence. This is
just an example of my [DXR] Post made Saturday night concerning
strange HF Propagation Brownout that has been affecting most of
the East Coast for last week or so.
A M1/1f Solar Flare occurred at 1915 UTC on 27 Apr 01. This followed a
M7/2b Flare that occurred on 26 APR 01. Major to Severe Magnetic Storms
predicted next 24 Hrs for Middle and Northern Lattitudes. Best bet for DX
for paths 3,000 KM on 40/20/15M is on and about the gray line for N.A.
FYI: VP8SDX was worked by a large number of stations ranging from
Mid-West to West Coast on 40M CW around 0930Z 28 APR 01 with
K=3. W3BM in AZ worked VP8SDX at 0233 local time and reported
sigs were 569. Just recvd this report. Maybe on again Sunday morn ???

MY LAST POST THIS SUBJ: The WWV forecast for the next 24 Hrs
does not jive with the solar activity report from the NOAA Web Page
(last update 2200Z 28 APR 01). The solar activity report is predicting
low to moderate solar condx next 24 Hrs (exactly opposite of WWV).
This has already been seen by
QSL Hiro, W1VX/KH4, via JF1OCQ. Address for JF1OCQ correct on
Buckmaster Web Site.

For Default Parameters, have found that Signal Supression (path loss)
of 20 db seems to work best under present geomagnetic storm condx.
This was comparing Frequency Map predictions versus actual band condx
here in N.C. for last two days. F.Y.I.

If you have downloaded and installed this great program, please send Sheldon
an E-Mail at [EMAIL PROTECTED] and tell him thanks. If you have not downloaded

Need Winchesteer (or eqiuvlent) 840MB HD in good working order for old
486DX machine used for logging. Unable to locate BIOS upgrade to handle
a 1 GB HD on hand. This is an old clone machine but still (well did) works well.
