I've just received a QSL and a note via regular mail from Robert, 3B9FR. He
is requesting assistance by the way of donations of equipment. He needs the
following:
A keyer. His has died.

I just talked to Sam K5YY and he says they are now in the eye of the
Typhoon. It is very dark and quite. They do not know what the next several
hours will bring but if they disappear from the airways it is because the
wind has taken down their antenna's.

Speaking of DX being for the long haul, just think how long the haul is
going to be if conditions aren't resolved between India and Pakistan. If
they end up going to war, how long do you think it will be before VU4 and
VU7 ever happen again. It would likely bring progress to a halt in
Afghanistan

Does anyone know the status of Ed's application for having his current
licensing authorization include operation on the RTTY mode?? He obviously
must already have some kind of authorization to operate RTTY, or he
wouldn't be doing it.
