[Dx4win] IC-765 control question
Not true Paul... The Mode command can simultaneously set width... but I'm sure if one can get at the necessary bytes with DX4Win... I'll take a look tomorrow. It is true according to my 3rd edition of the ICOM CI-V interface reference manual. This version includes the IC-765 as one of the radios covered. The mode data definition for the various modes is defined on Page 6 - Section 6-6 -- Mode and IF passband width tables The table preceding the IF passband width table states: For the IC 781, IC-R9000 and IC-R7000, IF passband width is selectable via the CI-V System. Other radios are not equipped with this capability. 73, Paul K5ESW
[Dx4win] dxl files to ADIF help
Hi Nick. It is easy: After loading the log you want to convert to ADIF, click on File (in the main window), Import/Export, ADIF, File (in the Import/Export window), Export and choose a name for the ADIF file. Repeat this procedure with any other log, with a different filename for each. Best wishes in 2004! 73 de Isidro, EA8NQ E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] --- Visit the EA8NQ's DX Page (in Spanish): http://www.qsl.net/ea8nq/ --- - Mensaje original - De: vk1aa [EMAIL PROTECTED] Para: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Enviado: miércoles 31 de diciembre de 2003 06:24 Asunto: [Dx4win] dxl files to ADIF help HI - I'm looking for someone to help converting couple of .dxl files to ADIF (H40 and H44 expedition log that I would like to upload to eQSL.cc)
[Dx4win] PSK
Hi, I decided to automate DX4WIN and interfaced the computer with my radio but I can't get PSK to show in the mode window. I am using Windows XP, DX4WIN 5.03, and an IC-746. SSB, CW, AM, FM, and RTTY show up when I manually change modes on the IC-746. I did try opening the PSK window but that didn't change the mode logged. I don't want to add off line. What did I miss? Happy New Year, good DXing, contesting, and award chasing in 2004. Ed K3IXD

Check out the File - Preferences menu; probably Station;modes Bet you find PSK (and PSK3! ) are not enabled! [Dx4win] Filters question
Hi, I saw with interest some weeks ago the notes on filters; even with the note, I am struggling to make the filters work properly. What I want to do is filter out some QSO's , between 2 dates, so that I can delete them from the main log, and save them in a new log. I have successfully created a new log (GQ3NKC), but cannot make the filter stick, so that I can delete all before, say 05/05/2003, and all after 10/06/2003; the only entries I made with the special call. All help much appreciated! Using Version 6.02 Dave Sharred G3NKC

Dave, I didn't have both PSK and PSK3 checked. Checked both of them and it still didn't work. BTW I didn't have RTTY checked and that mode came up OK in mode window. Maybe DX4WIN is taking the info from the radio thus the SSB mode for PSK. 73, Ed K3IXD

Hi Dan, Thanks. That worked. I cc'ed the reflector so others would know of this feature that works in 5.03 too. 73, Ed K3IXD Summerville, SC snipped Indeed, that is the case, Ed. But, if you double click a callsign in the PSK window, it will put the callsign in the callsign field and change the mode to PSK. At least it does that in 6.02 Dan -- N3ND Finksburg, MD

Ed, You should also set the option Radio | 'ignore mode in real-time'. So when you use USB to receive PSK31, the mode field in the QSO window will not follow the mode of the radio. Paul

Is there a modification to the radio control file for the 765 which will send the radio to the proper frequency but set the filter at Narrow? ICOM did not provide, in the IC-765 CI-V interface, a command that will set the Wide versus Narrow mode for the IC-765 IF passband. If a program sends a command to the IC-765 to set the operating mode, the 765 will set wide mode. If you can make the radio control fiileset just send the set frequency command, the mode will be left where it was previously set (such as CW-Narrow). 73, Paul K5ESW ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
[Dx4win] IC-765 control question
BTW, there are mis-statements in the CI-V manual... It might be worth confirming... I'll ask the question on the Icom reflector... See if anyone has actually tried it. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Paul Ferguson Sent: December 30, 2003 08:04 To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [Dx4win] IC-765 control question Not true Paul...
