[Dx4win] Grid Lookup Problem
--- Pete Stafford [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I find that when I enter a grid in lower case and tab off it, it is upshifted. However, if the record is inserted or updated without moving off the cursor, the upshift does not occur in the stored record. Hi Pete, I have observed the same thing. I think DX4WIN should be changed to automatically upper-case the first two characters of the grid square before the QSO record is saved. I have to remember to tab, just as you do. As another example, if I type in a county name like MIDDLESEX, DX4WIN comes back and tells me this is Middlesex county as I would expect. I don't remember what happens with the IOTA field, I think it converts to upper case as you enter the reference number. I wonder how hard the code would be to do this for only the 1st two characters of the grid square (on entry, rather than on QSO record save). Only Paul can answer this. 73 - Jim AD1C = Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.ad1c.com PGP Fingerprint: D8E2 3D78 339F A7F1 8C13 1193 B5D1 4FB6 79D1 70DC
[Dx4win] SWL labels problem
I have run into another problem with label printing. I have marked 309 SWL labels for printing. Abt 1/3 of them is with my old call - ES5RTV. I seem to find no way of differentiating between the two calls when printing. The SWL labels are not affected by the Selection or the Filter or import/export or anything. Whatever I do it still shows me 309 labels. So I have no way of knowing which are with which calls and I can not set the signature text in Preferences - Lab for the right call. Anybody can recommend a solution or a way how to process those labels? 73 tonno es5tv
[Dx4win] Grid Lookup Problem
It shouldn't be any problems to fix that problem when it seems like that Paul is converting the fields in the OnExit event. He could instead do it within the OnChange event Yes I know it sound a little bit cryptic but you do have to understand some Windows programming to know what I mean. 73's SM0PSO Ove Friman

[Dx4win] Grid Lookup Problem
Well I agree that the timing of upshifting needs to change, but I would suggest that it occur at record insert/update time. Doesn't really matter if it displays properly, as long as it is consistently stored in the database. A secondary issue is that the database already contains lower cased grids, so those would need to change as well.
