[Dx4win] ZL9HR coordinates - wrong Low Bands prediction

2012-12-01 Thread Milan Gütter , OK7GU
Hi,

for ZL9HR DXpedition the DX4WIN8.05 gives SR 16.40UTC and SS 08.46UTC for
Dec. 1st, 2012.
DX4WIN coordinates for Auckland Campbell Isl.(File-Databases-Countries) is
E166,10 and S50,73.

ZL9HR web
http://www.campbell2012.com/index.php/plans
respective the
http://k3el.wordpress.com/dx/zl9hr/propagation/ says
.sunrise at 1559 UTC on 3rd December

Wikipedia and UNESCO coordinates is E169,09 and S52,33:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campbell_Island,_New_Zealand
http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/877/multiple=1unique_number=1029

After ZL9 coordinates correction in DX4WIN for the ZL9HR DXpedition
the SR is 16.20UTC and SS is 08.42UTC (December the 1st)

This correction is quite important for TB and 80m prediction - the
difference is quite important.

73 / GL with ZL9HR (not easy for EU)

[Dx4win] Band Decoder Type Greyed Out

2012-12-01 Thread Pete Smith N4ZR
I just reinstalled everything following a Windows 7 event, and in
restoring my DX4WIN Preferences I noticed on the Control tab that the
Band Decoder type is greyed out. I don't have a band decoder connected
at the moment, but shouldn't that give me the option of selecting
something?

2012-12-01 Thread Pete Smith N4ZR
I've looked through the archive, and as far as I can tell I should be
able to find vichw11.sys on the machine, and a DX4WIN port driver on the
list of installed programs. I've run the program several times, and
neither is found. I can't find a download on the DX4WIN web page for
the port driver. This is a 64-bit Win 7 machine - I'm sure Guy's right,
but what to do now?

[Dx4win] Group Names and Print Label Flags

2012-12-01 Thread Larry P. Greenberg
I did this once before but fail to remember how I did it.

I want to put a note on each of my CQWW contest QSOs that I imported into
DX4WIN. Last year I put “CQWWCW” in the notes field for each of these QSOs. I
don’t remember how to do that.

Also, I want to set the Print Label Flag to “N” for each of these QSOs while
maintaining “Y” for regular QSOs that I haven’t QSLed yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not understanding the manual this
time.

Having been through this ...

Open the Help file and search for LPT Driver

Boot the computer using the F8 key to bypass driver signature
enforcement then run LPTDriver.exe in the drivers directory
of your DX4Win installation as *administrator* (right click,
run as administrator) to install the driver.

 E166,10 and S50,73.

The default coordinates for ZL9 are Auckland Island, IOTA OC-074. If
you put in IOTA OC-037 for Campbell Island, you will get the
sunrise/sunset times for Campbell. Perhaps I'll split the difference
for the DXCC coordinates, and let the IOTA do the rest.

Remember, once you log your first QSO with ZL9HR and IOTA OC-037,
subsequent QSOs will automatically come up as OC-037.

Ron, the 5000 settings work, but if I have a spot in the DX Spots window
that is SPLIT, the radio goes to the right frequencies and then times

anyone else any ideas. I am not much on changing Rig Files. Thanks, John

Ron,

Try treating it as an FT-950 or FT-5000. The CAT commands are the
same except for some minor changes in the SH (filter width) command.

Change CAT TOT in the rig's menu to 100 or 1000 - that helps with
all of the new Yaesu rigs and make sure your serial port supports
RTS/CTS handshake or disable CAT RTS in the menu.

The easiest way to add notes to your file is to use AD1C program
adif2dxq. You can also make by default labels to N with it. I use it in
every contest i run. Tnx agn Jim...
