[Dx4win] Moving from XP to Win7 Pro

2013-11-13 Thread Eric Rosenberg
I'm about to migrate DX4Win 8.05 from my XP machine to a new Win7 Pro
machine.

Are there any 'gotchas' I need to be aware of, or other trips to pass
along?

Thanks 73,
Eric W3DQ

DX4Win works fine in Win7, but I suggest that you install it at the C:\
level or create a separate directory like C:\Ham Programs.

Win7 has very tight control on any programs installed into Program Files.

Thanks' for that but DXCC QSL file we are referring to is a recent

This is a new file. I don't know when the ARRL first made it
available. My intention is to use this file as input to this program:

 http://dx4win.ad1c.us/lotw/

(when I get some time)

It would be fantastic if DX4WIN could import this file to use it to
set DXCC status flags, or at least tell you which flags don't match,
like my program does.

Larry K8UT wrote a utility which *can* set the DXCC flags in DX4WIN.
You can read more about it here:
