Re: [Dx4win] ADIF export

2014-09-29 Thread John Balsillie
Thanks Kostas. A little back ground, I've been maintaining the ZM90DX log using
HRD which accept the Operator and My_IOTA fields, ZM90DX used a number of
operators from different IOTAs and we have Charles M0OXO as our QSL manager,
the IOTA and Operator is required for the QSL cards. Unfortunately a large
number of QSL cards are arriving at our ZL Bureau so rather than on sending
them I elected to process the request and just e-mail M0OXO the resulting file.
HRD is so painfully slow, I'll import the log (60k QSOs) into a DX4WIN log for
QSL processing, the Operator Field will become the QSO Notes and IOTA a Group
in DX4WIN.

Yes, I can filter by Group (IOTA) and export the ADIF, then add the Group
(IOTA) using ADIF Master, do the same for each Group and merge the ADIF files.
An other option is to generate a .csv file from the Logbook Report Generator
which can have all the required fields then convert the .csv to ADIF.

As the QSLing commitment will be on going for years I was looking for a ONE
STEP process.

Cheers
John ZL1ALZ

You can use the group number to search for the qsos in the same group
and export different adif files for every group. If you really need to
join them, it is an easy task with notepad... Just a solution...

Re: [Dx4win] ADIF export

2014-09-29 Thread Kostas SV1DPI
I suggested a temporary solution. Paul maybe add it in a next release. I
don't know if it applies to adif standards but I hope so.

Re: [Dx4win] LOTW downloads - 'State'

2014-09-29 Thread Rick Murphy
This is a defect in DX4WIN. The ADIF STATE field is NOT US State, it's
a place where the entities Primary Subdivision goes.
If DXCC is Australia and STATE is WA, that's accurate. Interpreting this as
the US State of Washington is wrong.

My recent LOTW downloads have thrown up a few errors. This occurs when
either Russian or Australian stations include their 'State'. The most
recent was VK6LC, who's State was shown as WA (Western Australia). I have
to re-enter the correct data for each QSO, i.e. delete the State and change
the Zone back to the correct one.

There are not many so far, but the trend seems to be on the increase. Is
there a way of avoiding this, please?

 Many thanks/73,
