Re: [Dx4win] Dx4Win Call Sign Alert
Thanks. The membership list is a great solution. I had built a list of needed IOTA calls but the CallSign Alert fill-in just couldn't hold them all. (I extract the calls from Tedd Mirgliotta's Ohio/Penn List, compare it to the DX4WIN IOTA Listing Worked, and pull out the needed exceptions.) 73 Jim KS1J -Original Message- From: Jim Reisert AD1C [mailto:jjreis...@alum.mit.edu] Sent: Friday, November 27, 2020 20:46 To: Jim Cc: DX4WIN Reflector Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Dx4Win Call Sign Alert > Is there a limit to the number of characters allowed in the Packet 1 > -CALLSIGN ALERT fill in? > > I can't go past 61 characters. Yes, there is a limit unfortunately. My solution is to keep my primary alerts in a separate text file in the SAVE directory. Use Notepad to create the listk one callsign per line. Right-click on the DX Spots window and select "Membership List" near the bottom. Put the '@' (at-sign) character in the Id field. Click on "Add to members list", navigate to your text file, and open it. Then click on OK. This list does not count against the 61 characters in the field, so you can add and remove temporary calls there, as long as you don't exceed that limit. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, , https://www.ad1c.us __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Re: [Dx4win] Dx4Win spot window
It is not currently possible to ignore spots that have been worked but not confirmed. If you are not worried about confirmations, then you can mark as a QSO as confirmed and any posts for that country will be ignored if you set DX4Win as N4QS described below. Being able to ignore other levels of spots has been requested before as a new feature, but obviously has not been implemented. 73, John K9EL On Nov 27, 2020, at 10:23 AM, N4QS, Dave Perry wrote: Ed, Just go to Preferences, File, Packet1 tab and on the lower left is a box that reads: Spots to Ignore. Click on Gray and Black, then go up and click on File and then Save Changes and Exit. This will eliminate all spots that you have previously worked and confirmed. 73, Dave, N4QS -Original Message- From: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net On Behalf Of Ed Hughes Sent: Friday, November 27, 2020 8:48 AM To: DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] Dx4Win spot window How to populate the spot window with only countries that have not been previously worked on the band/mode being spotted. No matter what I try, he still gets spots in the spot window for countries he has worked before. BTW, I have the box unchecked that says "alert worked before countries". For example, 7Q7RU is spotted on 10 20 & 160 FT8 and my friend has worked Malawi B4 on both 10 & 20 FT8, but not 160, so he would want to see the 160 spot in the spot window, but not the 10 & 20 ones. Re: [Dx4win] Dx4Win spot window
Hi Dave and thanks. I have had my Dx4Win set exactly as you suggested for a long time and it displays spots as I want them IE it lists in dark green the countries I have not worked on the band in question and it lists in lite green the countries I have worked but not confirmed and this is the way I want it. I was trying to eliminate the lite greens for my friend who is not concerned with confirming band-mode countries, but he has decided to live with the lite greens and just concentrate on the dark greens, so I think we're all set for now and thanks again for the info. Is there a limit to the number of characters allowed in the Packet 1 -CALLSIGN ALERT fill in? I can't go past 61 characters.
