[Dx4win] Control of QSO input fields for band and mode

Is it possible to limit the choices in the QSO input window for band and
mode

to only the choices selected in preferences/station tab ?

 

If so, how ?

[Dx4win] Latest update stopped running due to AVG

[Bob Wolters]

After doing an update on two different computers, I can no longer start/run
DX4WIN, AVG 'captures' it and will not allow it to run.

 

My OS is Win 7

Made a new version available: do Help | Check for Updates

The 'funny' problem of files not recognized as being identical is still
there; so do not keep downloading islands.txt and clusters.dat; most likely
not changed.

These are the changes:

Version 9.06

·When importing QSOs to confirm existing QSOs, we check that if the
information contained in the imported QSOs adds to the existing QSO or
conflicts with the existing QSOs. Conflicts are now indicated in the
"notfound" listing with a letter C in the first column, Updates with the
letter U and QSOs that could not be found with the letter X.

·Identical messages are only stored once for each QSO to avoid multiple
entries of the same message.

·When using the Update button in the External data Window updates were lost
if the cursor was inside the callsign field. This is now avoided by moving
the cursor to the prefix field before applying any updates.

·If the grid field in the External Data Window contains more characters
than the grid field in the QSO, and the first characters match, the grid
information in the QSO Window will be updated.

·While adding calls to a membership list, skip empty calls. In QSO Window,
avoid using an empty call to fill the membership field.

It seems 'something' must be saved first before COUNTY can be saved, but only 
dependant requirement is STATE and it is OK ...

so ...

You must be using version 9.0x.  I reported this to Paul some time
ago.  Very frustrating!

[Dx4win] DX4WIN - entering county info

I try to capture the state and county info from LOTW confirmed contacts into
DX4WIN just in case I ever need it,

but repeatedly ( and annoyingly ) have trouble saving the county info 
on 'first pass'

 

When I enter the state and tab to next box ( county ) and either enter the
county or select it from the drop down list 

and make all other changes and then save it, the county info I just entered
disappears.

 

Then, If I reopen that QSO dialog again and enter the county information
AGAIN, now it saves .

 

What am I not doing right ?   or some program bug ?

Depending on your DX4WIN version.

Goto File / Preferences / Station

Check JT65, then save

That should do it..

[Dx4win] DX spots

I cannot stay connected to a spotting cluster for more than  a few minutes
before it disconnects.

 

I am using DX4WIN version 7.03.16 on a Windows 7 machine. .   Connected with
DSL and wired LAN.  

 

I have reinstalled the updater program with no positive effect.  (It appears
to update files when requested.)

And I always select the 'keep-alive when requesting an update.

 

I don't know if it is something I did not do properly, or something I
neglected to do, or even if it is the DX4WIN software;

or if it is something caused by my ISPI don't get any disconnects where the
computer

has to re-connect, but .. ???

 

Any suggestion on what to do or look for ?
