Hi Jim.
Great news!, and many thanks for sharing this information with all of us.
I believe that Paul needs a start point and this v8 is very promising.
In my opinion, time will bring more new features. We have to be
patient and learn about the new ones we have in this v8.
I know that a wish
I'm not a big fan of 'me too' replies but I can't resist jumping on this
one. Me Too. I'm not sure what the purpose of this 'clear everything
on callsign adjustment' is and it may have a useful purpose but when
chasing grids on VHF/UHF, the grid is often the first thing I enter. It
is pretty
This limitation is also the reason DX4Win is so fast... so it's a
trade-off. It's not a bug... it's a design choice ;-)
Now that computers are much faster than when D4W was initially
designed... I'm sure Paul could mitigate this behaviour... I can think
of a few ways to do it... but it does

That's the point Dick.
All must prog. have the automactism connection to your preferred cluster...
we can define it.
And
Well, for one, I agree with you Jose... every time I start DX4Win I have to:
Clear old spots manually...
Select a cluster... (I don't always use the same one...)
Connect to a cluster...
enter my callsign...
enter a sh/dx
It only takes perhaps 10-15 seconds... but after you have done it 10,000
Why clear old spots manually?
early in the morning, for example, when spots are fairly scarce... I
don't want to get exited about spots for stations that have long since
gone to bed. That's the point of the color coding... to get your
attention without having to read the spot. having hight
Hi Everyone,
I too would like to see a better interface to the cluster. However,
Paul still has to get some of the previously-existing functionality
working again (like Mark for QSL), as well as the DOCUMENTATION (help
files, etc.), whereas the DX Spots interface is currently working. I
believe
Paul has given me permission to post some a few screen shots from
DX4WIN Version 8:

I hope you agree that there are a lot of new features in this release.
I've been pushing Paul hard on consistency and ease-of-use.
Paul has been doing an awful lot of work,
; and everything else is automatic !
Looking forward to the full release

I have programs that do it both ways and I agree with Jim, I would
stick with CC User (or Spot if you are a Mac user, ahmmm), if you want
rock solid connectivity otherwise the DX4WIN method is good enough!
