Auto Login to work on my
Edubuntu 10.04 setup. Now my problem - and I'm sure not the first to run
into it - is how do you allow the clients to Shutdown?
It's in a loop when you initiate a Shutdown with Auto Login = True.
Right now I'm looking at holding the power button in and doing a hard
shutdown

One of my Edubuntu TC setups is serving our library/media center. I would
like these TC to simply auto login and just come up and running when they
are powered on. I have a generic login right now on each client, but I would
like it to be on auto pilot.

I played around a bit, but do not get it working. I added
[MAC-ADRESS HERE]
LDM_USERNAME=someuser
LDM_PASSWORD=somepassword
the account exists. but the client with the max adress does not
autologin. I guess I have to specify more parameters, right? but where?

I am doing some kind of Info-TV-thin-client-solution and use that howto,
my notes about Info-TV:

This is not a good solution for LTSP5, which uses ldm not gdm.
For LTSP5, I think you need to get an updated version of LDM which will
support auto-login with a username/password you put in
/opt/ltsp/i386/etc/lts.conf.
