The dns proxy has never slowed down connections that Ive
seen. And its necessary to have running for some features.
Nor does the content filter slow things.
Your PC should be fast enough, although that may depend on
how many users you have. 1.2GHz is fairly old, however.

You have to backup and restore after a fresh installation of 2.2 beta.
I upgraded my EFW from 1.1rc8 to 2.1.2 without reinstallation.
But this wasn't possible with 2.2beta.
