Does the module load at boot?
Try:lsmod | grep forcedeth
If that command comes back w/out output, then the module isn't loaded.
Next try: modprobe forcedeth
That will attempt to load the module. Check to see if the card is
showing up now. If so, add it

Hi,
I'm a EFW newbie and I'm trying to install EFW 2.2-rc3 on an iBASE
FWA8206 network applicance. Onboard the appliance has 6 x Intel 82574L
gigabit network adapters and during the install after having entered
an IP address for the green interface I get the error 'Interface
failed to come up',
I mean to put EFW un transparent mode to scan HTTP/FTP traffic between other
firewall and the LAN.
