Hi,
I don't find any 2005 Info on the Elecraft QSO Party
at

please send me a copy and I'll pass it on to the TCG

Hello;
New to list and just at alignment and test part III, page 74. I have been
getting exceleent suggestions from Gary at Elecraft but was wondering if any of
you had any similiar problems.
When I power up to do the test on Page 74 My rig is keyed up. Power output is

IF I have an antenna of sorts back up and IF I can operate and IF non-US

Is it practical to substitute a 9 volt battery for one bank of 3 AA batteries
in the KX1? I think it would fit mechanically but do not know the difference
in amp-hour rating between the 9 volt and the AA cells.Jack NI8N

I don't have a K2 yet but considering to obtain it very soon. I would be
interested to know if some reflectees compared receiver performace of
the TT Omni VI+ and K2 (DR for 2 kHz spacing and phase noise, birdies
etc). Another point of interest is the QSK - I know that the QSK of K2
is good

The QSK at that speed may allow you to hear between characters, depending upon
your spacing! You
Bruce,
The Power indication that you see when powering on the K2 is the 'Power
requested' setting of the power control pot, not the power output (4 watts)
that you are currently obtaining - so that is a non-problem, it will take
care of itself after the real problem has been solved.

Hi Bruce,
If the Alignment Part II passed o.k. my suggestion
would be to start from page 65 and check and
double-check each step and part installed. I have had
to do that before, and have almost always found
something I did wrong. It may take some time, but
you're not getting anywhere right now
What about the 0200 net, Daniel? Or didn't it count since I was the only
check-in and was running a TT Argonaut? hi. I enjoyed working someone
using a K2 and hearing what it sounded like as I hope to build one soon.

Just wanted to get reports of how my SSB board in my K2 sounds. I would like
to set up a sked for 20M phone contacts. I did a little tweaking. I am using
2.2khz wide SSB.
I hope to work the CW skeds in the future. However the times choosen, I am
at work.

Dan,
It gets awfully tiring saying dah-di-dah-dit dah-dah-di-dah

No this is a safety lanyard...
i hand hold the KX1.
i agree it would not be a good idea to use the BNC connector for a
support line.

I understand. But which is worse, a dent in the case, perhaps, from bouncing
off of a rock or the likelihood of a broken PC

I did reply directly to them, and not the K2 site.

My main interest was the SSB audio differences between lets say the first
SSB K2's , my self modified 3155, and 4000+ models.
I have a 1.07 rev SSB chip. Some early #3000's may have earlier chips. I
have not asked for any audio checks from any of the 100+ QSO's. Nobody I
worked had a K2.
Well, 17 meters is open here on the West Coast.
Worked 4 stations, but none with K2's.
I'll stay on for another half hour till 01:00z

This sounds like a purely subjective form of 'testing' to me. There are too
many variables to make a good judgement of one's audio quality.
