One of the wonderful things about the Apple OS X (the X is the roman
numeral for 10) Operating system
is it's BSD Unix based. That means any of the linux programs should compile.

I feel the AGC could be better on the K3. I notice as band conditions
change and a station comes up (especially at or over s9+20) I have to
dash for the volume control. Has anyone else noticed this? I have mine
set on slow but I feel it could be better.

Not altered it from default Dave. Mine is at 10 currently. What would
be the result of changing it to 12 or more?

I just installed a KBT2 in my working K2. Set my power supply to read 13.9V
on the internal K2 meter and let it charge for a couple of days. Now that I
tried to use it I cannot transmit at all or the internal battery voltage

It sounds like you have the diode (the one inside the heat shrink)
backwards. The anode end should be connected to the battery positive
terminal.
Cut the heat shrink off and take a look.

While i do appreciate very well the pseudo-stereo effect, i don't see any
real difference when i choose the IQ or bin effect. From what i has read
on QST, it should disseminate the stations across a space in

manual to a CD, bring it to your local printer (Kinkos comes to mind)
and they'll work whatever magic you want - spiral bound, two sided,
giant format, each page laminated, etc. All it takes is some cash.

That is mighty hard wiring to work on.
The old high impedance headsets used to
come with that kind of wire, and when
it went, we just replaced it entirely with
something else flexible.
Unless someone comes up with a magic
bullet for you, better plan on a rewire job.

The way I handle that wire is to strip it and fold it back on itself, then
bind it with thin wire taken from some flexible cable, then if necessary
lightly solder it, that always works for me.
