OK, so here's my question. How is the K3 audio compared to the K2? I'm
only interested in CW purity and low noise. I remember the K1 sounded
great, K2 wasn't quite as good but is still good. I'm assuming the K3
takes another small step downward due to more processing stages.

One thing stuck out. Inserting filters in one direction in his testing for
some rigs resulted in an 8db difference relative to the opposite direction
in a performance parameter.
Are K3 filters properly polarized so this won't happen? Has the filter
technology improved so this isn't an issue?
Katie, sent me an email last night that said my new K3/100 (kit) will be

It was ordered Aug 30.
They are doing a great job working off the backlog of orders.
It won't be long now. I am getting excited. J

It is always recommended that the basic K2 be completed before adding options.
That way you have a known working base to move forward from. Then again there
are those of us who don't follow the rules. There is no effect on the CW
filter setup whether the SSB adapter is installed or not.

Some reported hiccups with the radios should be put into perspective:
1. We ran 8 radios x 24 hours x 16+ days of operating: over 3,000 hours
on the air in total... plus additional hours for some units on board ship.
2. Some glitches were unique a specific radio, or at most two radios.

Now it's my turn (again) to ask what is probably a stupid question.
From all the literature, the K3 is said to save filter settings in each memory

for each of my 10 general purpose and 10 quick memories.
Now,
