One thing stuck out. Inserting filters in one direction in his testing for some rigs resulted in an 8db difference relative to the opposite direction in a performance parameter. Are K3 filters properly polarized so this won't happen? Has the filter technology improved so this isn't an issue?

DW, It is always recommended that the basic K2 be completed before adding options. That way you have a known working base to move forward from. Then again there are those of us who don't follow the rules. There is no effect on the CW filter setup whether the SSB adapter is installed or not.

Hi Vic Yes, I didn't mention it, but there is a 1:1 balun inside the switch box before the feedline exits on its way to the rig. After listening to K9YC at our NCCC meetings, I think I need to increase the impedance of this 1:1 choke balun though. It's a bit undersized from his point of view :-)
