Thanks to all that responded. Peter, AC7SB, was a great help. As it turns out the CW sidetone source was selected to U6-25. That is where the data has to come from. Moving it back to U8-4 in the ST L menu did the trick. Now my only mystery is when/how/why did it change from default in the

Mike, Do you have the speaker wires interchanged? - check the colors against the manual. If the wires are swapped, it will ground out the audio except for the headphones. Do you have the speaker cable plugged into J5 on the RF Board? There is a J5 on the Control Board that I have seen

Chuck, I had a quite similar problem. My K3 was qrp waiting for the KPA3. When pushing tune I had full power (12W). Talking SSB I had full 12W but when I touched the power knob, even reducing 0.1W caused the power to drop to 8W peak. I had to retune to resume full power. I checked the LPA twice

Just because the sun has no spots does not mean it is inactive. Lately there have been some coronal mass ejections which have fed the Heaviside layer with much needed ions. Aurora have come as far south from the magnetic north pole as Washington. Twenty meters has been open at odd times too.

I bored out my K2 knob to fit the 1/4 shaft on my K1. I used a drill press and a 1/4 Dremel bit. I don't remember which one, but it was not a twist drill bit. The K2 knob is 6mm. 6mm is 0.236 in. so you need to remove .007 in. of brass from the wall. Since the knob would be hard to
