I am in the process of building my next K1. I have built several of these
great little radios. I'm just beginning the RF board. Does anyone have any
tricks or tips that will help minimize VFO drift?

The results where 100 watts in all bands EXCEPT in 160 mts where it give 70
watts and in 60 mts where it give 75 watts.

Thanks, Greg. Good observation. Since I only use the K-3, I'm SO2V.
With or without the A makes no difference.
I'll try putting this problem on the N1MM reflector... maybe someone
over there knows how to config N1MM properly. I think that's where the
problem is.

You can send the ASCII commands to the K3 using the K3UTIL manually and
prove that if you wanted...

I'll throw an opinion in on the power supply issue...
I'm using a GAMMA HPS-1a and a Astron SS-25 with the K3, though not
simultaneously.
I bought the HPS-1a to go with the K3, it's a great unit, though you need to
be aware of its limitations.
I was just recently given the SS-25 and it is
I know that the KAT3 remembers matches by band, but does it distinguish
between the ANT1 and ANT2 positions?
Just curious.

Indeed it does! And, you can also have the KAT bypassed on either antenna
on a per-band basis. I use this often when contesting. Quite slick ;)

I've built KPA100 for my K2. When doing two-tone test, I was
satisfied with results at 10 watts power (KPA100 in bypass), they
are shown on photo (1).
Then I increased the power to 11 watts, and what I saw wasn't just a
two-tone signal any more, see photo (2). As if carrier rejection

As soon as I receive my rig back from Dale Farmer, I would love to beta

Oleg,
It does not look like the pattern is related to the 2 tone test, but is
at a much lower frequency - perhaps related to your AC line frequency.

I was transmitting AFSK-A tonight with the K-3 operating at 30 watts

power did adjust. This was the first time I ever adjusted the K-3
