You're maybe thinking of Jim, K9YC.
(I couldn't even play an audio engineer on the radio, and most people
think that my musical instrument already makes too much noise.)

Really nice. As a new maker/owner of a RepRap Mendel 3D printer, and user of
Alibre Design (mentioned in the video) for CAD, I can testify to the amazement
one feels when achieving 3D output from your own design. Built a model of our
home in HO scale; now working on other model railroad
so I've been using my K2 manual a LOT lately and the cover is starting to
fall off - the holes are tearing out. Anybody know of a good way to protect
it from falling off completely?

As appears to the custom to the Elecraft family, WA6NHC would like to

Try your local office supply store, like Staples. They have the ability
to create spiral-bound manuals. They could probably disassemble your
manual, laminate and re-punch the cover, and assemble it again. I had
some similar work done and it was surprisingly cheap.

Hy to all. I finished weeks ago to assemble my K3 and all went perfectly. I
then received KRX3 and added to K3 today. When i power on i hear the speaker,
the LCD light on but no text is visible. Option installed are kpa3, kat3, kio3,
kdrv3, kbpf3 on main receiver and of course krx3.

Hello,
I'm trying to get a Heil HM-12 microphone to work from the front panel.
Even with the Mic gain set to 60, and MIC SEL set to FP.H, I have to
shout in order to see any ALC bars.
According to the K3 Owner's Manual in the MAIN Menu section describing
MIC SEL :

Hi gang,
I have a w2 wattmeter that worked well when it was first built and has
been in storage for the last few months. Now, when I apply DC the start
up calibration routine runs just fine and the meter is ready to go.
However, when I apply RF several LEDs light as expected but within a
I'm a new K3 user and love it. I'm also getting back into ham radio after 20+

Chuck,
It is almost that simple. If you have a desktop PC, is that simple,
but you connect the K3 line out to the soundcard line-in and the K3 line
in to the soundcard line out. The levels should be within the range of
adjustment using the K3 controls as well as the soundcard volume

Typo in the manual. Tap '7' to toggle the very high mic gain mode.

Hi,
I use the HM-12 with the matching cable for the K3.
So far, for my voice, I use the Mic-Sel on FP.H ( No extra gain with the
'7' button needed)
Mic Gain set to about 30 (+-3)
Compression about 15.
I did have to reduce bass and increase top end a fair bit though on Tx

Hello all, I know this is most likely a long shot but I am looking for another

Thanks to all who responded to my question concerning the HM-12. The

for anyone else who may wish to use this microphone.
Also, many thanks to Bob Heil for his helpful suggestions, specifically

Hi, Steve!
Obviously the symptoms you are describing are very unusual. The W2
should never shut off by itself. I suggest trying to run the W2 with a
different power supply. It kinda sounds like the present power
connection is getting overloaded.

Can anyone suggest a way to attach two antennas to the KPA500? I had two on
my barefoot setup but it would be great to be able to switch antennas with
the front panel ANT switch. Is this possible somehow?
Thanks
