Good Evening,
The sun is about to set on a very fine day. 55 degrees and sunny;
the hottest day of the year so far. For an hour and a half I hiked
across the property seeing which plants were getting ready to leaf out.
Lots of pollen from the alder trees but not enough to sneeze. I

I came across this article today. I haven't tried it but thought this
might be a useful tool for troubleshooting USB problems.

Installed the P3SVGA option board into P3 s/n 548, downloaded all K3, P3
and P3SVGA latest updates today. It displayed on Dell's model IN1920 HD
(18.5 inch) monitor with absolutely no problems upon fire-up.
A blessing to these 70 something year old eyes. Tnx Elecraft.

My kdvr3 seems to not be working properly. It will record OK, but the
playback sounds like a fluttering or motor boating sound coming in with the
audio. On cw it sounds like a machine gun coming in with the notes.
Anyone else experience this and how did you fix it?

Have two. Both with Clifton Labs preamp/isolation board. In die cast box.
Been used on my K3 VFO A and VFO B.
$75 each including priority mail.

Several posts were recently made regarding the small Radio Shack switcher

As asked via emails, I've converted the K2 software face to Web Start.
So a single click is all that's necessary to start up:

Don't forget, if you find any of the software there halfway useful,
please send me a QSL card! Over 1000 downloads but few cards.
I have for sale a cover set for the K3, P3 and KPA500. These covers are
made by Pat of PYI Radio Covers and are some of the best covers made. They
are vinyl with a felt-like inner lining. The covers are basic black with no
logos, names, callsign, etc. The K3 cover has a cut out for the front

WOW! That would be a GREAT option!
I just measured the serial output from the USB cable on my laptop, and I have
-6.23
on receive and +6.8 VDC on transmit between the RTS (7) and Signal Ground (5)
lines.
If it would work to simply stick a 1K or 10K resistor in series with the RTS
line, it
I'd use 2.2 K, but anything between 1 and 10 K should also work.

Geoff,
The stations located on the east coast are on EDST which is UTC-4 so
they should be running from about to 0600utc which is 8pm to 2am

In about 1999 or 2000 the FT-817 came out with an entry price of
$799. The KX3 (kit) is $899. That is an increase of 899/788 =
1.13 or 13% over ten+ years. Sounds close to inflation for the period.
I sold my FT-817 to buy the KX3 as it looks to be a much superior
radio. It cost me about

Hello Group,
I've been using my K2/100 on CW a bit lately and have noticed that there are
low frequency thumps/pops on the receive audio at the rx to tx transition -
ie onset of keying (key closure). They are most noticable if the noise
floor is high or if there are other signals in the receiver
