[Elecraft] K2 Headphone Jack

2013-08-02 Thread Steve Anne Ray
The problem with the headphone jack on the K2 is not a new problem; you cannot expect it to last forever. My solution was to take the audio out of the speaker jack in the back and feed it to a small box. The box has a switch to go between a standard headphone jack and a output to a external

You may both be right! I haven't checked my KPAK3AUX cable for actual wires but I bet there are 15 wires because I know that the pins not to be connected are snipped off in the DE15HD plug-end of the cable. -Original Message- From: elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net

Hi Don, Is it possible that you have another PC program in communication with the K3. Perhaps a logging program. That could make the com port busy. 73, Mike K2MK haircut...@verizon.net wrote Hello Group, Checking my K-line setup, noticed the my utility for the Kat500 wasn't reading the

Fortunately it is pretty easy to get to the K2 headphone jack if you want to replace it. Just reverse the last few steps of the K2 final assembly (basically removing the front panel). Removing the jack without damaging the board takes some patience, either a good de-soldering tool, some Chip Quik,

You are quite right Ian. All 15 pins are NOT used as shown in the KPA500 manual (Table 1, pg 4). What I should have said is that all of the lines used are straight through. VGA cables are not wired that way. Pins 1, 4, 6, 7, and 8 are not used. IF you buy a straight-through 15 pin cable, just

The COM port won't show up until you physically plug the adapter in. Then it might need access to drivers. The Control Panel Device Manager applet under COM LPT ports should gain a port just after you plug the KUSB in, and the port should go away as you remove the KUSB. That's how you can tell
