Dear FM,
The upload for the new firmware makes me crazy.
I get error after te DSP 02.81 version.
2 errors:
ERR DSE
ERR PL1
I noticed that the menu has strange letters but this is due to the fault
upload from de DSP firmware.
I tried different pc and have the latest version of the USB
Rudi,
Did you look at the chart of error codes in the back of the manual and
tried the correction steps given for that error? That is the first step.
For ERR DSE, the correction is to reload the DSP firmware. If you tried
that and obtained the same error, download a new copy of the
Rudi,
I had similar issue running the firmware upgrade through my MicroHam microkeyer
USB router. I am not sure if you are running your cable direct or through
another system with virtual comports. Virtual comports seem to have issue with
the firmware for the K3.
I didn't see if you mentioned

Never perform a firmware upload to *any* rig with a microHAM interface.
Every microHAM Users Manual specifically states the interfaces are not
to be used for firmware uploads. There are several

I put power onto the KAT500 first, before starting the K3. I do not start

Good Morning All,
I can't explain the problem, and maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree.
However, in recent years it has become pretty obvious to me that
microprocessors are pretty finicky! All the devices we use these days that

This thing is really great, but I'm downsizing my desk and don't really have
room for it with the CW paddles, Bug, Computer Keyboard and all the other stuff
one needs on the desk, so I'm offering it up here at a pretty good discount.

I don't have the EMU0202, so I can't say about the 8kHz shift. I do not need
to add the 8kHz shift on any of my SDR operations, however.
Regarding the sample rate versus bandwidth, when using 48ks/s, you are actually
getting TWO samples at that rate, one of I and one of Q. They each
Hi Don,
I figured out my problem. First I re-did my measurements as you suggested. I
checked them against the 2005 Manual and they are within limits. I noticed
that when ever I removed my dummyload from the SO-239 connector the static
would go intermittent and finally it was very low. I checked

Terry,
Whether you use an EMU0202 or any of the other choice for a sound
card, the issue gets down to where the 0 is. If you don't use the 8 KHz
offset, the center of your sample and the point where you are tuned
become the same. By using the offset you move the two apart by telling

I'm sorry I missed Pacificon this year. This is great news. Can you tell us

once you have set CONFIG: TECH MD to ON
then tap the [MENU] button to get out of CONFIG
now tap [DISP]
(to make VFO B show various items, like voltage, current, PA temp, etc)
turn VFO B knob
until you see PLL 1 #.#
or until you see PLL 2 #.#
the #.# is actually the voltage reading

Good news regarding the interference between the 73CNC replacement tuning
knob and the SideKX cover. Per Mike NT8O at 73CNC a new lower cost version
of their finger dimple spinner tuning knob is in the works that will clear
the SideKX. He is forecasting a release date of Dayton 2014.
