Yes, Steve, all modes supported by the KX3 are usable on all bands, including
those using either internal or external transverters.
I am using my KX3 now primarily as the I/f for my 10GHz rig and have used it on
multiple modes including CW, SSB, FM, AM, and digital.

Hello,
I have a faulty KDSP2 module. The message that I get from DISPLAY button
press is in the attached picture. Normal state should show 'S1 nr nt' but
mine shows 'Sn G 7.0'. I have replaced it with a working DSP module, and it
works fine. Any ideas?

on my part, removing the dislodged tip has proven futile and it appears that
the female jack will need to be replaced. Removing it might help but it’s just

You can disconnect the paddle and do a continuity check with your
multimeter. It seems that the problem is on the paddle. You can easily
disassemble it to see where the problem is. I did clean mine, and it is
fairly easy.

My KXPD2 paddle has some issues. It moves very sluggishly and causes
errors. The manual doesn't have any service instructions. Is anyone else
having the same problem? Any suggestions?

Still hoping for some resolution to this problem since it’s now been a year
since it was reported to and acknowledged by Elecraft as being a firmware bug.
It really renders the KX3 as fairly useless as an I/F rig for microwave
transverters if you need the TxInhibit function.

I had this happen with a neighbors daughters laptop. I was able to get a small
diameter drill bit like is used for drilling pcb holes and using a pin vise put
a few twists of the bit into the broken part of the connector. Then I gently
pulled it out.

I agree. SMD soldering is actually much faster than through holes because
you don't have to trim leads. It is just a matter of getting used to small
parts. Magnifying glasses will definitely be necessary for most of us.
Reviving K1 with SMD parts will make a very trail-friendly radio.
