something wrong but I don't think the K3 is particularly prone to
transformer induced modulation. Mine sits right next to a Diamond GSV3000
power supply which has a huge great transformer in it and I have never had a
problem.

Elecraft kits as well.
I think that the Elecraft transverter (or any decent trasnverter) in front
of a K3 will give you a better receiver than the IC9100 will have.

one once and tossed it after 5
minutes it was so bad.
I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has had this problem and solved it
satisfactorily because I'm getting withdrawal symptoms not being able to
work digimodes. Is it just me, or is technology getting way too complicated?

sure the PC I ordered
came with a Windows XP downgrade. I *know* everything I want to use works
under XP, but I've seen plenty of reports of problems with Vista and 7. This
won't be an option for much longer - another reason for getting a new PC now
rather than later.)

sent to an OpenDNS page warning you about it instead. It's just an extra
level of protection. I put this into our network router so all our PCs use
it automatically.

Surely the opposite sideband suppression is the same as it always was? All
that has changed is the ability to hear it. To restore the previous
functionality just move LO CUT up a bit and set the 50 and 100Hz EQ settings
to the minimum.

the speakers through the cables. To use the ready-made adapter you'd also
have to snip the mono plugs off the speaker cables and replace them with
stereo plugs, one wired to the tip and the other the ring.
