Has anyone found a suitable replacement ear pad. Mine are worn out. Otherwise
the headset is good and hate to discard it. Did not find anything in the

Interesting. I built my K2/100 about 17 years ago and the fan has always
drawn air into the cabinet and exhausted over the heatsink. So, I rechecked
the manual and disassembled my rig to check for proper assembly. Fan label
is facing out and wires are soldered to the right pads(red=+, black=-).
I received my K2 as a 50th birthday present 15 years ago. It came with the NB
and SSB modules. What a surprise and what fun it was to build. I later did
all the mods and added the audio filter, 160 meter module, KPA100, and
KAT100. It is still the main radio here and gives me a thrill every time I

I am assuming that you are using a K3. On my K2 I use a headset. I have a
hand key and a set of paddles hooked to the K2. On SSB I merely depress the
hand key or the dot paddle to key the transmitter. Don't know if this works
on the K3.

Go to the Elecraft website. Click on the Manuals
Go to the INP menu, edit the parameter and tap
DISPLAY to toggle ADET on or off. With ADET set to ON, you should be
able to key the K2 from the straight key (or computer) even though the
INP menu is set to PDLn or PDLr.

Never had a rig that had 160M on it until now. Still don't have a 160M
antenna. But after listening to the CQ160 CW contest for a while I had to
try. So, hooked my KX3 up to my 80M double bazooka. The KX3AT loaded it up
and I just spent two hours having fun on 160M. 15 contacts and 13 states
with
magnet and a narrow notch at the SO-239 jack and solder lugs to directly
connect the SO-239 jack to the outer surface of the shield. If you have
all those, there should be no change in the K2 behavior when installing
the KPA100.
