Sorry, I should have thought of that. K2ZA sent me the info:
"The Elecraft part number is E980100The bottle says cardinalpaint.com

least the part I can see that doesnt have the part number label covering
it."
Thanks to everyone who replied. I now have an Elecraft P/N, the paint

I know I can probably get some matching touch-up paint at an automotive paint

Tom,
On my latest K2 build, I put a 1pf cap into the C68 (10pf) location. The 1pf
cap was labelled "1D", which looked a lot like a "10" to my eyes. I think it
took me about 4 hours to figure that one out. Once fixed, it all fell into
place, and everything worked.
We all
's options, and there was no complicated
rework for any of them - that was my experience, anyway.
There is great support on this list, and at least in my experience, nobody will
criticize you for dumb questions - at least in public ;)
Enjoy, and don't be shy about asking for help.

the K2. It's a
lot smarter than I am, and didn't allow me to make any non-recoverable errors.
Now, if 6M would just open up...
Happy Holidays to everyone!

Thanks Don,
I'll test it as-is. The 2d connectors are all contacting clean metal, so it
should be OK - at least in terms of noise.

like a good way to pick up noise to me, but a lot of
you have forgotten more than I know about this stuff...
Thanks in advance. 73

Don't worry, be happy" situation, or should I look
for a problem?
Also, the temperature of the rig and room do affect this! With the lid off, I
put a towel over the open top for about an hour, then removed it and ~15
minutes later, the dial had drifted about 20Hz.
Thanks again!

Thanks Bob,
Yet another variable! I just measured my dummy load at 54 ohms (cold). Maybe I
should just declare victory and move on!

20M: .048V, 9.6A
30M: .056V, 11.2A
40M: .052V, 10.4A
60M: .056V, 11.2A
80M: .054V, 10.8A
The current seems to vary significantly between bands, but maybe that's normal?

Thanks Bob,
That makes me feel a bit better. I'm still going to remeasure it with a newer
meter and see if the measurements check.

friend's DMM and see if I get the same voltage measurement across R1

11A. I expected higher current.
Does that seem about right?
Any insight would be appreciated.
