- the Ten Tec has no lows
Stewart and Don and anyone else -
I've gotten back to trying to fix my VOX. It seems that with any microphone the
VOX wants to key the radio until shut off. Sometimes right away, sometimes
after a bit. Disconnecting the microphone doesn't help. PTT works fine.
I have followed Don's advice
Stewart -
Remeasured. Between pins 2 and 3 I get 3.6v. But, if I press and release the
PTT, it goes to .8v. It remains at .8v regardless of SSBA setting.

I'm using a new microphone with my K2/100. It's a desk mike (Ten Tec 706) and
I'm using the VOX a lot more than in the past. Had a strange thing happen last
night.
The band was 75 meters and I had the attenuator on and the RF gain backed off by
about 75%.
The VOX worked fine during my net

You might want to adjust the KPA100's R26 and R27 to agree with your external
meters.

You are on to something...
How about long-path multipliers?
Polar absorption is greater at higher latitudes, latitude multiplier?
My feedline is old and crappy. To be fair, there must be a way to adjust for
that.
For the record, I only want to compete with simple minded doofs,
I enjoyed SS this year. Operated about 10 hours and didn't run into any of
those top ten items listed. Did get a lot of 73s and GLs.
The K2/100 and dipoles were a great combination. I set the CW filter as narrow
as possible and did the same with the KDSP2 filter. Also used the KDSP2 noise
Competition coming for Elecraft?
Nope.
The Sienna will be available in Winter, 2005. We expect the entry level price
to be about $3000, with options taking it up to about $6K fully loaded.
A very different market.

I was making an adapter to use my MD2 desk mike with both my

Are there factors that make one radio far easier to send

If you are using the internal keyers in both rigs, there may
be far more difference than A and B
