I like Bill's answer for a fixed multi-station setup. Not good enough for a
roughly controlled enviornment of FD. Or when a friend drives up to your house
running a KW mobile.
I think the bottom line is what the receiver front end was designed to handle
and how much head room there is from
Me too, I use 150 lb nylon all of the time without problems.

Hi, I have used the diode snubber in all designs of relay control from small
reed to large contactors. I usually check the series resistance of the relay
and the non solid state device activation and measure the voltage kick. I
then use ohms law to determine the peak current that would occur

I agree with Guy. Now on the speakers, I have found matching pair of speakers
at a swap meet that were from a computer store. Same height as the K3 on legs
and I painted them the same, or close color.

I would like to add a comment on removing solder from SMT via holes. There are
three methods and the first two have been discussed. I have found as the
technology gets better, smaller, the plated through holes also get really
small. Like 0.020 or smaller. Solder suckers have a very

Hi all,
I am from the old school of thinking that sometime I am going to need to key an
AC relay in an amplifier and prefer to make a VERY simple interface and
generate a set of dry contacts. That way regardless of the keying gender, you
are safe. It keeps ground current loops out of the
