I just purchased a PX3 for my KX3 and KPA100 for my cottage in Canada. I
connected it as per instructions and it works well. I have one issue, when I
change bands on the KX3 the display on the PX3 flickers when the band is tuned.

I talked to Elecraft and you must remove the second receiver not just unplug it
and remove its “old” synth board. Too bad, but for the times I use it a $200
upgrade is just too much, so I order one new synth board remove the two old
ones and the second receive, the “cost” of upgrading I guess.
For several years I’ve used an HP 58503A to give me a sat disciplined 10Mz to
my K3. The other day it stopped functioning and I get a health err. and a sat

I have my K3 driving an Expert Amp. I set the K3 (with the ATU out) at 25W on
each band to drive the Expert to full output. A lot of times I don’t want to
turn on the amp and use the K3 “barefoot” at 100W with the ATU switched in.
What is the simplest way to do this? I need to change the K3

On a particular band I use the K3’s internal antenna tuner to tune the SWR to
1.0-1 or so it says. I have a W2 attached inline and it reads an SWR of 1.7-1+
for the same setting. Which is correct? can the W2 readings be
adjusted/reconciled with the readings on the K3? is there a problem?

When keying the KX3 microphone after switching bands the ATU indicator on the

I've done the mod and still need the RX SHIFT and the VFO NR ON on all bands 15
meters and up through 50 MHz.
I am in a rural location and have very low noise on all bands, I guess the pin
clipping cannot hurt.

I have a K3 and want to key two different external amplifiers. The K3 has one

I love the upgrades to the P3, but may I suggest one thing. I think the green
and red cursers should be the same height. The green curser sits under the
frequency readout but the red curser is taller, this looks odd to my eye. I
hope others agree.

I was shocked by the introduction of the k3x prototype. I hadn't realized that
ham radio was going in that direction, eventually a 160-10 iphone? I was
encouraged by the Yaesu R5000 big, lots of hobby knobs. I must get with the
times, small and portable handheld ip radios, the future.

I was sitting at the operating position earlier today and kept hearing a beep
about every 4 to 5 mins coming from the K3. I run the K3 off a car battery
charged by solar cells, lately there has been no sun. I checked that the

Thank you to everyone that helped with my digital setup. I now know I
do not need a microham USB II and the K3 does great without it. Once
you buy these things you keep them so I've got a future donation item
to the local radio club. My next setup questions involve transmit

There is a company out there that makes a little devise for tuning tube HF
amplifier finals. It uses a single pulsed tone at a 30% on 70% off duty-cycle,

connector on the K3 rear, the coax from the BNC goes to the second receiver

speakers noticeable hum occurs. Also the powered speakers have two
