Now before you guys think I too am complaining--no, I just have a curious mind!
Two questions that I am sure you more experienced can help me with:
1. When I begin narrowing the DSP down, on filter 1 (2.7, std, offset -0.84)
only the lower freq side moves. The DSP switches to the 2.1 filter,
Hi all;
It has been a week or so since my question but have not had time to give
an update.
First, I received several good suggestions (Wayne/N6KR suggested that check
the settings for the filters, and Brian/K3KO mentioned that it might be a
squelch problem), unfortunately nothing
Hi all,
I think I am going crazy -- vacation starts Saturday and I will have time
to play with my K3 and now it is taunting me!
I know there have been discussions on loss of receive on SSB, and now
something like that is happening to me, but different!
I was making some

Your explanation is really good Sam, but it seems that something doesn't
follow for me.

Turn on the RIT control (tap the RIT button). Next, lower the RIT
frequency -20 Hz. (You must have CONFIG:PB CTRL in the config menu set
to .01 to move in 10 Hz

Try disconnecting the K3 from the program without touching anything
else. I recently discovered that if I disconnect my logging program (so it
is not directly controlling my K3) it will reduce noise level on 15m, about
half, making weak signals very readable. When I opened the
Hello all;
I am ordering a P3 today and would like to consider ordering a second KXUSB
as a backup because I have nightmares that my cable might fail and I will be
left without a hookup at a critical moment.
Is the KXUSBa that came with my KX3 interchangeable as a backup? I know, I
Julie;
I am certainly not an expert on this--I have my K3 functioning pretty well
for PSK and talking to my Mac but I am just to this level! I am trying to get
my KX3 up and running on fldigi--but that is for my play-time this weekend!
However, I would like to comment on a couple of

Check the K3 schematics - there *is* a static bleed resistor at each
antenna input, including the KXV3 Rx Ant In jack.
Gas discharge tubes are also present in the KANT3, KAT3 and KRX3.

I do not understand your concern for the K3. The KAT3 was working to
produce a low SWR (and a 50 ohm load) for the K3, so that condition was
apparently satisfied. The high voltage condition existed only at the
Unusual to see that as an issue without using an amplifier, however the
high antenna feedpoint impedance on such setups produce a high voltage at
that point, despite the atu proving a 50 ohm impedance match to the
transceiver.
I agree, and since I am only
Hi all,
I know that this topic has more or less gone its way, but I just got a
chance to try this out during the past weekend.
I hadn't had much luck with decoding CW on the K3--usually a bunch of
asterisks and Es and nothing else. However, I got new 700Hz filters a week
ago or so and
Hi all;
What about spray-on rubber cement from places like office supply stores?
You would need to do some masking to keep the cement just below the grill
and maybe some on the grill
itself to make sure it doesn't get in the area of the openings (assuming the
