Let me know your solution as my KPOD has the same problem.
The buttons on the K3 always work as expected, but the KPOD buttons don't.
A real pain in cw pileups.

This has been a day one issue with my K3 S/N 1240.
After going to RX after TX, the RX gain drops by 40 dB or so. It is worse
on 160m than on 10m. When the RX goes dead, a dit on the paddle (in cw
mode) or press of the XMIT button restores the full gain. In the past this
was not a common
That depends on how the external reference is used.
The K3 uses a counter lock scheme that does NOT change the phase noise of
the internal oscillator. This is real obvious if you measure the 'locked'
oscillator. When locked it still drifts around +/- 0.5 Hz. This is just
marginally good enough
I have to run my K3 (S/N 1260) in split mode for WSJT-X.
It works fine for tone frequencies above 1500 Hz, but for low (<1000 Hz)
tones I can't get the ALC above a few bars with all controls (windows,
wsjt-x, K3) to their maximum settings.
Split 'solved' the problem, so I haven't investigated
Dave,
I have exactly the same problem. For me it does not occur with RTTY. That
seems to be solid. JT65 and FT8 really show the problem. When the problem
occurs I can often make a RTTY transmission and suddenly the ALC shows for
FT8/JT65.
I have multiple soundcards in my computer and in theory
This is a really common problem with Win10. If it has downloaded a new
update in the background, but not installed it, many of the drivers quit
working. For me it is ALWAYS soundcard #1 that fails. Once a reboot is
performed, things start working normally.

It appears that my KPA500 has failed. It has a permanent "PA DISS" on all
bands. Just before that fault it smelt like wire insulation was burning (no
smoke). It has this condition on 160 - 6m. The fans seem to be running fine
and the PA temp was 50C. I've run the KPA500 on JT65/MSK144/FT8 for over
Elecraft XV50 transverter in excellent condition.
Set for 10w output to drive 100w amplifier. Built with N connector for
output, but will install SO-239, if desired.
$250 shipped via Priority Mail to US.

I just noticed that my K3 frequency is approximately 50 Hz off.
I have the K3EXREF installed and the external 10 MHz is supplying +10 dBm
to the rear panel connector. The 10 MHz appears to be 3 Hz low according to
my counter and spectrum analyzer. Is this too much?
One recent change is that I

Jorge,
There is a good comparison chart for the LP-PAN vs P3 on the telepostinc
website (http://www.telepostinc.com/).
I recently got my LP-PAN working with NaP3. No one has commented about pc
requirements. I originally tried to use LP-PAN with my single core XP pc.
While it ran, the cpu load
Yes, they were on 160m from approximately 1100z to 1200z.
The 30m RTTY op went QRX.
About 10 minutes later they showed up on 1826.5. Very weak signal with long
and deep QSB. Definitely needed the K3 NR. The LP-PAN helped to determine
who was calling. Mostly 9's and 0's getting in the log at
I had a few similar problems when starting up my new Win7Pro PC today.
Check to make sure that the Mark frequency is the same on the K3 and MMTTY.
The defaults are not the same. And make sure that the TX Mark frequency is
the same as the RX frequency.
If you are using VOX make sure that it is on

So, a big thank to Jim, K9YC, for his tutorial (and experiments) on curing
RFI.

I have all these spurious signals in my K3, too.
They are caused by my wireless router. But are the result of using wired
connections to my office computers. When I remove the LAN cables these
signals disappear, along with many on the hf bands.
I have received the ferrites recommended by K9YC.
