Thanks, Don.
I already did both without any luck...

I recently connected a Kuhne TR 144 H +40 to my K3 in order to be QRV on 2 m
for the upcoming Sporadic E season and weak signal dx.
I use the KXV3 with output power set to 1.5 mW (XV1 PWR = L 1.50).
It works fine but I have a few issues:
1. When switching on or after bandswitch the transverter

I have the same issue - propably caused by a lightning storm while I was

Presumably the KIO3 board and the USB to RS232 converter (FTDI) is
damaged.

Hi Gary.
DK7ZB (http://www.qsl.net/dk7zb/start1.htm) has a lot of good designs.
I recently discovered the new promising design of G0KSC
(http://www.g0ksc.co.uk/) and I plan to change my DK7ZB yagis to the
design og G0KSC.

I recently discovered the source of a very annoying noise in my K3. When
unplugging the USB cable from my USB hub the noise in the receiver
disappears.
How do I get rid of this? I am using HRD, so a connection to my PC is
really needed...

Thanks for the replies, all.
I'm using a laptop PC with 3 USB ports. With mouse, keyboard, harddisks
and other devices I am using 3 USB hubs
Plugging the cable from the K3 directly into a USB port on the PC does
not remove the noise. The hub doesn't have a PSU, but there are a lot of

OK, the new K144XV-F costs 349.95. Also needed is KXV3A_UPGR (39.95). A
total of 396.90.
This is 26.95 more than XV144 and you don't have the
inconvenience/pleasure of building it yourself. The noise figure is worse
and the output power less than the half.
Are there any benefits at all with
Very well put, Don. I have almost the setup you suggest.
Last night I heard some weak but perfectly readable PY and YV stations on
20m. I am i Denmark (Europe). They were calling CQ and there was no
pile-up. But my 100W from the K3 didn't make a contact!
So why would I invest in a second receiver?

Hi all.
My K2 is working fine on 160m, 80m, 30m and 20m but not 40m. I have
switched between ANT1 and 2. RANT is OFF. Nothing helps...
What went wrong for me?
Any settings to check or could it be a hardware failure?

Don,
thank you for answering! This K2 used to work, but after I got my K3, it
was left in the background...
It will tune to a good SWR.
The K60XV option is not installed.
