Thank you for all your replies but I've found negative comments about most
(the power supplies that is
boom boom)
I found the following complaints/restrictions -
Powerwerx : noisy fan
Diamond 3000: poor reliability on later models
Astron: Linear's are only suitable for 110VAC not 240. Some
else? Found this which looks expensive:
http://www.barrettcommunications.com.au/2022.html Also have noticed a lack
of mention in Elecraft’s forum of TenTec’s model 941.
Thanks,
Shane

I should've listed the power supply as a 10A continuous and 12A peak sorry.
Lack of nibbles, maybe my price is too high? This K3 is literally AS NEW but
I suppose considering the many alternative configurations of the K3, this
could make selling one used tricky unless it is sold at a heavily
Factory assembled K3 for sale in VK5. $3300 Australian Dollars.
This K3 is serial number 2127 and is configured as follows:
K3/10-F (Factory assembled 10W)
KBPF3 (General coverage receive 0.5 to 30MHz)
KFL3B-FM (13KHz FM 8 pole roofing filter)
KFL3A-6K (6KHz AM 8 pole roofing filter)
KFL3A-2.8K
Has anyone successfully carried out Method 3 of the Reference Oscillator
Calibration described on Pg 49 of the manual? The functionality of keys 1, 2
and 3 described in the procedure doesn't seem to work (I've got the 1ppm
TXCO btw). When I bring up REF CAL in the menu I see the osc freq but
I'd like to buy these items please John. I've sent you an email.

I was annoyed by the felt on felt hiss generated by rotation of VFO A and
took about six attempts to find a compromise between hiss and rotation
damping. Ideally I would prefer it to rotate less easily though.

AAA of course. Thanks Don.
I think the jury is still out as to whether the K3 deserves the praise
Everest. Maybe but we've all got our K3 feature or modification wish list.

Don't you hate it when your calibrated multimeter displays 5.00V on pin 2 of
the ACC connector and you then don't have a reason for altering the setting?
I feel like I've missed out :)

The multimeter *did* read 5.007 volts but I couldn't enter the additional 7mV
into the K3. Talk about annoying

Thanks for your replies guys. Hopefully Icom's SP20 makes a difference.
I've received too many emails privately to reply to each separately sorry so
I hope those who were kind enough to spend their time writing to me won't
mind if I answer all questions here?
I do have a KBPF3 general coverage
Sorry I made a mistake above. Where I typed 4.20KHz should be 4.00KHz.
Why the lack of replies? Isn't the passband tuning faulty?
Set the K3 to AM
Set Bandwidth to 10KHz
Set Fc to 1.50KHz
Switch to HI/LO cut and discover HI=4.00KHz and LO=0.00KHz. Shouldn't
HI=5.00KHz if bandwidth is set to

I don't understand some functionality of the K3's passband tuning. If I
select AM, and activate NORM then Fc=1.50KHz(an asterisk is alongside this
figure on the display). Since the selected roofing filter defaults to 6KHz I
figure the displayed value of Fc is the centre frequency of the audio
