my problem was the "power pole connectors". made a new cable with 45amp
connectors, and i am fine. also, ordered the factory made cable, for good
measure.

i am using wsjt-x software for jt65 using my k3. after operating for
approximately 2 hours today, i answered a cq, and after 30 seconds the k3
shut down completely. i waited a few minutes and changed antennas. the k3
powered up, and i tried again. same result, shutdown after 30 seconds of
when i plug in the serial/usb cable, a new com port, com4 appears in the
list of com ports. however, the kat500 utility cannot complete the
handshake when trying to connect to the new com4. i checked the plug in
the back, and it appears to be all the way in.
advice and suggestions appreciated.
i have win4k3 on a win10 laptop. using com0com for port sharing. one usb
port to the k3, another usb port to the signalink. win4k3 is ok with hrd,
but dm780 is problematic. when i try to send cw, i get the red led on the
signalink, the red tx led on the k3, but no audio to the k3.

i have ordered an mfj-1026, and intend hooking it up to the ports on the
KXV3 board. what menu settings need to be made. any details would be very
helpful. if there is a reference on the elecraft web site, i couldn't find
it.

i am considering purchasing an ACOM 2000A amplifier to use with my K3. all
comments/suggestions regarding usage, installation, cabling, options, etc.

haven't updated k3 firmware
haven't updated HRD software
haven't updated windows xp software
been using hrd with signalink and k3 for months, until 2 days ago. i
rebooted pc, to no avail.
in CW mode PTT on sihnalink does not come on when transmit initiated, nor
does light on k3
in psk mode,
was a problem with conflict on com6 between the signalink usb device, and
the behringer mixer i had recently installed. unplugged the behringer,
rebooted the pc, and VOILA, user error was fixed.

i want to improve my transmit audio using the above components. has
anybody done this, and like to share any internal menu settings that need
to coincide with the hardware implementation. thanks.
