Quite some time ago I did some tests using FSQCALL v0.24.6 and my K3 TRX.
I used the "Use CAT commands from file" option. In a text file, you have to
define the relevant COM port and CAT parameters. See the help text for
details.

Do you receive (decode) other WSPR stations? If yes, frequency and PC time
are ok.
During TX, does your ALC show 4-5 bars?

Had the same problem in October 2010: RF gain tracking error between main and
sub RX.
Lyle then sent me a beta K3 Utility which performs the RF gain calibration
at 2 different power levels (-73 dBm and -33 dBm). Of course you need an RF
source capable of providing these power levels. This solved
;-)

After reading all comments, I performed an RF calibration using a -73dBm
source and the K3 Utility 1.3.10.15. First run with factory defaults, second
run using my signal source. A picture tells more than a lot of numbers:
http://home.datacomm.ch/hb9brj/RFgain.jpg
X axis = RF gain position angle
I always experienced a significant difference when comparing main/sub signal
levels.
Mike's message triggered me to search for the cause.
Step 1: Changed RF/AF controls back to independent:
SQ MAIN = 0; SQ SUB = 0; SUB AF = nor.
No luck, the sub signal level was still much lower than main.
Step
Take a look at Faros by VE3NEA: http://www.dxatlas.com/Faros/
Faros decodes even very weak signals.
Some beacons are off target, so use sufficient RX bandwidth.

Is there a command to put both main and sub in both ears?
(I've wanted this from day one.)
Try this:

Thanks Barry!
This leads to the following conclusion:
In the command !bexx; 4 bits of the 2nd byte xx are responsible for the audio
routing:
bit0 (LSB) = Main Left
bit1 = Main Right
Guys, i just completed the initial test and calibration.
I hear no sound from the speaker or headphone, the rx shows no s-meter
action when i transmit a signal with an other tx.
There are no ERR-Messages.
The radio ist equipped with the Transverter-Interface, I still have to
install the Sub-RX
I have recently become interested in the WSPR beacon mode
(http://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT), which involves transmitting a
continuous signal for periods of 2 minutes. At a level of 5W the underside of
the K3 gets uncomfortably hot. Since this is the sort of thing you want to
leave
For the past several days I have been seeing a couple of powerful digital
signals, S9+, between 14.018 to 14.032MHz. They seem to be comprised of 4
or 5 discrete frequencies rapidly moving around in a bandwidth of about
2Khz. Can anyone let me know what this might be?
The latest IARU Region 1
Please let us know how the new features are working. Meanwhile, Lyle
(KK7P) and I are working on the next round
Thank you Elecraft, this is a big step forward!
I found 2 uses for my independent sub-RX:
- monitoring IARU beacons on 2 bands simultaneously
- listening shortwave broadcast
No need to use a 3rd party software.
Have configured Win XP's time service as described in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314054
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314054 .
Have chosen a time server which is closer to my location and reduced the
update interval to 30min = 1800s.
