Completed assembly and all was well until problem showed on Tx. It was drawing

Do I have a problem ???
Completed alignment II and all went fine by the book. No problems of any kind.
But I put an antenna on it to tune around a bit and not much there. Only very
strong cw siganls as heard on my icom could be barely heard on the K2. Is this
normal or do I have a problem
I'm thinking about getting the K2 with the 100 watt amp. This forum is very

What current does the K2 need at 100 watts?
Did I see one is supposed to use 2% silver solder or is 60/40 ok?

Hi Chuck,
Building the KX1 was a trip and 1/2. I also wrote to ARRL about meters and
feet, I got three letters back. One said that the metric system is the
official system in the US since 1975, but others systems are allowed. What ever
that means. I think it hurts our exports. My Chevy, I
what do people do in airplanes and boats where there is no ground or
counterpoise possible,,,
In metal planes and boats does the metal frame shield the signal from going
anywhere or does the antenna have to be on the out side of the vehicle, on the
40 and 30 and 20 meter bands that is.
When studying the HAM workbooks from ARRL, I found a few inconsistency in
statements, example one of many: Is there a reason why HAM's use 40 meters (or
other band) at 7.125 kHz (or other frequency) then say the antenna should be
34.5 feet
would it not be easier to keep everything in metric

It's my understanding (from reading another list which is addressing this
