Guy's..

Whilst sittin' here lookin' out the warm n cozy shack window, at the
absolutely atrocious weather we are having here in Stirling,
"Bonnie Scotland"...

I came across a recent present, sort of... an empty "Cadburys" biscuit tin
that a relative had left me to "do anything with" over
The festive season...you know that kind I'm sure.. The big square tin boxes
that hold multi-compartments with a range of ones favourite
Assorted biscuits and confectionaries... This one is a nice deep dark
purple color with hardly any markings cept for the 4 sides
Where the makers emblem is painted... No raised ridges etc with embossed
lettering or anything of that ilk...

Well.. it kinda got me thinkin... I for one for more years than I care to
remember have yearned after skill and possibly someones
Guidance\Companionship to construct either an authentic or revised
up-to-date "Paraset" WWII radio - as used by our very own S.O.E
Men and woman in the field of conflict during the hostilities...

There are so many people on this list, of varying "vintages" shall we say
(not wanting to offend anyone you see of course)..with
Varying degrees of knowledge, enthusiasm, experience... ALL with the SAME
degree of enthusiasm, some of us just need to be guided,
Prodded, pushed, shoved in the right direction..!

Is'nt that what Ham Radio AND QRP is all about..??

Wouldn't this tin....if someone had the know how, be a great donor for such
a project..!? I am and probably will be for the rest of
My ham career "feeling my way" as regards the giant footsteps of "Homebrew",
but no-doubt there are others out there who could
Envisage this.. I've looked for many a year at the various sites on the net,
that describe the folks who have courageously delved right
In to undertake such projects - For me tho, I think this could be a long way
off..

Would any of the well known and respected small kit-suppliers amongst us,
ever consider updating (if possible) the circuit of these
Historic, nostalgic radio's..? I personally don't know where to start !
but if someone had the know-how or could possibly get together
With some like minded people putting their combined knowledge together, I'm
sure with the past years releases in the QRP Fraternity that we have seen
from folks around these parts ...That a revised edition just might be
possible..

Then folks like me, would have an REAL good excuse to have something to
build into that leftover Christmas biscuit tin.. sittin there
Just cryin' out to be cannablised.. or is it vandalised..!! Oh ! Heck..you
know what I mean...

Please take it away guy's, give the list your thoughts, desires, loves needs
on this...and anything else you care to SHARE with us ...
Remember "Knowledge Is Power"...just because we choose not to use a lot of
it (think about it..!) ..does'nt mean we don't have it..!

Just a thought..
