Planning on getting a K3 around the end of the month. Recently sold an Icom '756 Pro that I used with my MacBook Air to run MacLogger DX through a Black Cat CI-V. Also ran CocoaModem through a Tigertronics SignalLink USB. Selling the CI-V on eBay right now. My question is, what'll I need to use

I have that same configuration... 1. Apple iMac-24 computer running current Snow Leopard. 2. MacLoggerDX 3. Elecraft K3 4. Signalink-USB 5. CocoaModem 6. And, the Prolific based USB-to-serial cable from Elecraft. It all is hooked up and works just fine including all rig control with

Jim Yes you will need a different cable for the SL-USB to K3. I'm not aware of one available commercially, but it's not hard to make one. I recommend cannibalizing an old twisted pair Ethernet cable. That and a few connectors (for line in, line out, and PTT on the K3), and you'll be set.
