Very quick response from some K3 owners suggests that 2.5 kHz steps in SSB mode *are* useful, after all -- for quickly scanning the band (including when using the RIT/XIT control to move the VFO in coarse steps).
It may be that 5.0 kHz steps in could be sacrificed, instead, in order to add 0.5 kHz. 5.0 kHz steps completely jump over some SSB stations so have limited utility. Note that this would have no impact on AM or FM tuning rates. Both of these modes would continue to provide 5.0 kHz steps as a coarse-tuning option. 73, Wayne N6KR ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
