Set CONFIG:SPKRS=2. Same audio comes out of both external speakers. AFX makes
some effects that can be less tiring.

Press the button marked AFX. Otherwise there is no audio on the right channel

Searched the archive however can't find info for speakers set to 2 and no
sub receiver. Yesterday I got audio from both speakers, and today only one
side is working. I have the correct adaptor and speakers are 8 Ohms
unamplified. Everything checks good on the bench. Could something be wrong
in the
Ditto on the West Mountain Radio COMspkr. Ordered a pair after reading
reviews here on the forum and after installation, it took about 5 seconds to
hear the difference over my computer speakers. My other speakers had RFI on
certain bands, but these have no RFI on all the HF bands with the KPA500
I am thinking of purchasing the Bose Companion 2 Series II Multimedia
Speakers for my K3. Is anyone using them and how good do they work? Is there
any RF getting into the speakers?
My best to all.

John,
FWIW, my West Mountain Radio COMspkr set totally free of interference.
The unit with the amp is immediately beside a 1KW amp and the antenna
cables for several rigs pass within inches behind the unit(s).

I also have the West Mountain Radio COMspkr and agree it is absolutely clear
and free of interference. If I turn on my external computer speakers (creature
speakers hooked to my iMac) then I can hear a loud buzz whenever I key down
from those creature speakers but absolutely nothing from the

What matters for RFI is proximity to ANTENNAS, not rigs,
99.9% of all powered speakers suffer from RFI, including those from
pro audio companies. It's good to hear that these do not.
The odd thing is that the COMSpkr appears to be the same device as many
of the generic computer speakers *except* the bypass/RFI suppression
parts included on the chip

Thanks for all the responses, I have ordered the West Mountain ComSpkrs
since they were so highly recommended. I appreciated the comments and
suggestions.

From memory, (ie the regs changed I should check first) over here in Eu we
have working place regulation set at 85dBA as a maximum for continuous 8
hours listening environment, but it is advised (not mandatory till another
3dB) to use some kind of ear protection; then 88dBA for 4 hours, 91dBA

Yes, amplified loudspeakers (that is, speakers with built-in amplifiers)
are notorious for serious RFI

I like the ability to either listen on headphones and speakers

Ok, one more question. I run some external equipment in the external speaker
line with a mono plug and a mono speaker. I should be able to use that from k3
external speaker set to 2 with a stereo to mono adapter right?
I also have a set of computer speakers I can run on line out. I wonder if

I use the Sounds Sweet. It has gotten a bit pricey but it has the

I have had these Best Buy speaker since Dec 1, small and sound great.

Does anyone know the impedance range of the external speakers for the K3? I

Does anyone know the impedance range of the external speakers for the K3?
4 ohms to 16 ohms ought to work fine. 4 ohms will give you the loudest
audio since the amplifier is having to work directly from the 12V supply.
