I often find the second receiver switching to ANT 2, which on my K3 is a dummy
load. Easy to diagnose and fix using BSET, but a bit annoying.

I thought I remembered seeing that in the instructions. If I was wrong,
my apologies.

Hi All,
I created a new email and changed the subject line to reflect the fact that
I now have the sub receiver functioning perfectly.
It turns out to be an error with the seating of the pins on the board.
Thanks for all the suggestions,

Thanks to all respondents. To clear up one point... "Migration," as per
Elecraft, means to transfer whatever components in a K3 that will work
to a K3S. In my case, just filters. I end up with a new K3S and the
original K3, ie two radios. I have never operated SO2V in a contest. So,

I am migrating my K3 [Ser# 6232] to a K3S with a sub-receiver. In the
K3S main receiver I will have the following crystal filters from the K3:

1.9kc ?-pole Elecraft
0.5kc 8-pole Inrad
0.2kc 5-pole Elecraft
I operate almost exclusively CW in contests and DX chasing. in

Byron,
First, it is not possible to transmit on the Sub - it is receive only.
I don't know what you mean by have the signals on both the main and
sub-receivers - if you turn on the SUB, you will have the main in one
ear and the SubRX in the other.

Byron,
Perhaps you're missing the first step: you need to turn it on by tapping
sub on the front panel.

I think this is another un-learning experience for me, coming from a
radio with two big knobs.
It makes sense to reverse the way I used the VFOs in the past, so I have
to learn the mechanics of quickly going split, locking the Sub, and
working the VFO A DX-receive frequency.

As Ken's response indicates, the number of uses is probably as varied as
the number of K3S/KRX3 owners. Most people will use the sub RX to listen

It's likely not a common usage, but mine's parked on 6M with a dedicated 6M
antenna listening for openings.

this like the K3 with SubRX.

Yes. During 6M E-skip season, my K3 is usually monitoring either 50.125
or 50.276 in the main RX, with the sub-RX in the CW band, and the P3
displaying 50.080 to 50.280. With this setup, I'll quickly see any band
activity. The 50.276 RX will feed WSJT-X. Once short-sequence ISCAT-B
