think about what it was...
As soon as I played it in my head, I knew... I have noticed that of
late if folks ask me what a letter is, I have to think about it to give
them the actual dot/dash code, but if I hear it, it is just
"..--" is easily remembered if you think of it as ".." followed by "--", or IM,
for IMmediately terminate transmission.
We put the nominal delay at 4 seconds to give the operator time to think during
longer transmissions. You can always use what Linguistics majors call a
hesitation form (what w

No menu command, but send an "IM" character (no space, send as one
'letter') and transmission will stop as soon as that character is
recognized.
