K3 utility was working fine until I had a lightning strike. Had to replace
the modem to get back on line. I got the PC-the notebook-the-nook and
printer going but the utility won't connect. I was using com3 before the new

It is indeed amazing. We found a PIC32 knock off for an Arduino Uno for $26.

Utility, and that older version does not support the newer K3 firmware load.

If you're using a laptop computer make sure it's plugged in while doing
updates. I found updates impossible using my shiny new Dell with the USB
cable (FTDI) if it was not plugged in.
