Reading all the advice given, it becomes obvious that there is not
one "perfect" interface. But, I use the simplest one: two shielded
radio shack stereo audio cables to/from the soundcard (mine are
external to the computer) and the original USB/RS-232 adapter cable
from Elecraft. That runs m

The variable length stop bit, lack of diddles, and lack of unshift on
space (?) can certainly cause problems in marginal conditions. While

With my K2, I use a homebrew interface - see my website www.w3fpr.com
I use none with the K3, just a serial (or USB to serial adapter)
connection to the RS-232 port and the computer soundcard to line in and
line out on the K3 rear panel. The K3 has internal isolation transformers.
For my KX3,
None. Just two audio leads K3 > PC, one home brew CAT6 RS232 cable K3 >
PC, one bonding strap made from RG213 braid K3 > PC.
