MicroHAM can have two settings (like for two different rigs) : one for K3
basic (=K2 in fact) and an other for K3/K31. In the second case it is not
a problem if it switches to K31 by adding K31 if necessary.
But of course if Wayne removes this feature I applaud since I am not
convinced it

You need to get that right do the manual 5 and 50 watt

set calibrations.
That's correct. I'll bet
I guess I am fortunate not to have never a problem with the TX output

same reading,I adjusted the power calibration trough the Utilities and it

There will be guys out hiking, dogging the hunters in the woods making

Ok Ive completed the watt meter calibration and the radio and external

The low power calibrate completes correctly. The proble arises during

Seems that the problem is on 80 and 40. I went manually through tx gain
calibrate and at the moment the error only shows on 80 and 40. Radio
transmits. The radio says the swr is 1.1 to 1, external meter says 1.1
to 1 but the utility still says high swr.
Should have fixed this at the time

For all of you for whose interest in radio extends beyond QSOs on the Ham

Check for a bad solder joint around the 40m toroids on the filter board.
You can probably scrape the insulation from top side with an X-Acto knife
and re-solder without

transmitting, so hold tune to transmit and you will see the voltage change
with your transmit draw.

I was wondering if anybody else has noticed this or is it just me. With 3.30

clears up at 100Hz. I don't remember hearing this with earlier firmware. I
haven't tried reloading older firmware.
I considered that this

and wider settings of the DSP bandwidth on both weak and strong signals,

Last April there was a thread started by Lyle in reply to a post by Dave,

Based on what Marcus, HB9BRJ, discovered about the command structure I have

I have a K2 on order and plan to add the KSB2, KAT2, KDSP2 and K160RX.
The 100w option and KAT2-100 will come later and probably be installed
in a separate enclosure.
My question is regarding any advice as to building and installing any of
the above options during the K2 build. In other words

Gary,
While you have the heat-sink off during the K2 build, install the header
for the K160RX, the K160RX components that go on the RF Board (C13, C14
and C75) and the AUX RF header from the KAT2 kit. The only reason is so
you will not have to remove the heat sink later to install these
I've played with the last command. It is exactly what I have needed
since obtaining the K3. It eliminates a significant drop in main AF
experienced here when going from main to split with subRX for weak CW
sigs. (minus splitter loss of course)
No my drop isn't due to a faulty subin board.
Thanks to all who replied both on and off list. You told me what I
needed to know plus a lot of valuable information.
What a great group !!

Hello Gary,
KAT2 and DSP involve minimal deconstruction and can be installed at any time.
I would choose to install the KSB2, K160RX at the first round. KSB2 involves
some construction work at the front panel and better to be done at the first
round.

I have three radio's in my shack besides the K3. I've checked their

Jim,
If it's an issue with the S-meter, it may well be corrected by the
corrected RF GAIN calibration procedure due out in the next beta
release. I can send it to you to try.
Generally if you connect an antenna to three radios and one of them
sounds louder, it means that radio has more
