I prefer the Nifty Stands over those, much neater and with the smoked stand
goes very well with the radio. I don't know about those stands but the Nifty

I have my SVGA resolution set to the native resolution of my Samsung 20"
monitor, 1440 X 900, but the status bar on the bottom line is being cut off.
Unfortunately the monitor display can only be shifted up or down; it can't
be shrunk vertically.

One thing that stumped me and cause me all kinds of grief was what button I

I know exactly what you mean.
It would be a nice feature that when I press the tune button on the

Elecraft shines in clever layed out equipment and firmware. This would

Bill,
There were actually pictures of that. The K3/0-mini it was called. It is
an interesting product.
There is a video on youtube, just look for K3/0 mini .

Hi again from Ken W0CZ
Last summer I had Rocky working on my Toshiba laptop using a Griffin iMic as a

> 1 Get the iMac to work with Windows 8.1
Open the Windows Sound Control Panel.
Select the Recording tab
double click the iMic (probably Microphone)
Select the Advanced tab
Change the Default Format to "2 channel, 16 bit 48000 Hz (DVD
Quality)" or a higher sample rate if the iMIC supports it.
Wonderful idea Arnie; especially if you want the "2nd" tune.

Hi Jim,
#1) Try turning off the auto mode on your monitor. The P3/SVGA may be
outputting a pixel clock that is incompatible with your monitor. Also, just
as a test, change the P3/SVGA resolution down to 1024x768 and see if the
screen fills correctly.
#2) Currently there is no way to display
Hi Eric, You can reset that display, by going to the manual for the 4 band
filter.. and resetting theb3 setting. Basically, go into the menu, select b3,
use the band button to select 14.. back out of the menu.. and it will be all
happy. Good Fun, this.
Have a great day,

Thanks Mike and Dale. That was the problem. Maybe I screwed it up in the
dark at the campsite. I use this radio a lot at home and in the field,
but nothing ever goes wrong with it so I have little opportunity to
learn much about how it works inside. No doubt I set that up in 2005

My first problem got fixed so nice I will hope for help on this one. I have SDR

Eric,
You inadvertently changed a menu setting.
The band that is displayed is a menu setting. Enter the menu and scroll
to the "b3" setting - if it shows "b1" (or some different number), tap
BAND until to changes to b3 - then EDIT the parameter - tap BAND to
change it to 14 mHz.

John,
That sounds equally good.
Let's hope somebody at Elecraft picks this up. It will smoothen the
operation of the K3-line still more.
BTW, I had the K3-KPA500 combo with me on the TN2MS DXpedition in
October. Without the KAT500 ( not need for it there). That was smooth
